MEET THE BAND

Blanket Approval began bringing its’ members together when Jack moved to Brooklyn and found his future bandmates Joey and Rahul by scraping through “musicians wanted” listings online. Around the same time, he was diving into the scene he newly called home and bumped into Max at a punk show in Ridgewood, Queens. Thus, Blanket Approval was formed.

The group of once-strangers quickly began spending long nights rehearsing and recording music and short-form videos, before suddenly having their first taste of social media-stardom in their first 6 months as a group; a couple viral videos that garnered millions of views, and pushed the band to take their flavor of groovy indie rock on the road for their first DIY northeast tour together in summer 2023. Since then, with shows up and down the east coast from VT to FL, Blanket Approval are making a name for themselves with a fierce live show, blending elements of hard rock, disco, post-punk, indie pop with playful antics.

In 2023, the band also put out their single “My Soft Spots My Robots,” which garnered attention from Spotify’s Fresh Finds Indie and became a fan-favorite, sung-along at shows. The band continued to record and release singles, playing shows occasionally, and prepping for the recording of their debut album. In January 2025, the band received a message from Twenty One Pilots lead singer and songwriter, Tyler Joseph, about being inspired by the 2023 single. Eight months later, Blanket Approval was put on to many new listeners with Twenty One Pilots’ album release Breach, which featured the band's songwriting on the track “Robot Voices.”
